May 22, 200718 yr is that the Twins are thinking of folding their tents this year and that negotiations are far apart on a new contract for Hunter, who doesn't want to play the next 2-3 seasons (while waiting for new stadium to open) on that horrible artificial turf. Ballpark numbers being bandied about by his agent are $60 million for 4 years or $75 million for 5. Also, there are rumors the Braves are likely to sign Andruw Jones before the end of the season, preventing him. I know, I know, he's a Boras client, and 99% of the time Boras takes his clients into the market.
May 22, 200718 yr Too bad the Twins would never consider trading Torii to the divisional rival White Sox.
May 22, 200718 yr No way anyone is going to give him 15 million a year, that would be insane and id pity the franchise that does that
May 22, 200718 yr QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ May 22, 2007 -> 03:23 PM) Too bad the Twins would never consider trading Torii to the divisional rival White Sox. ^^^^^^ Him in centerfield would like damn nice. 1. May 22, 200718 yr QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 22, 2007 -> 03:21 PM) ^^^^^ Him in centerfield would like damn nice. I can think of a lot of other ways that the Sox could spend $15 mil that would get me drooling more than that.
May 22, 200718 yr Career: Hunter: .271/.324/.469 Erstad: .286/.340/.414 However this year Hunter is playing like he should be in regards to his contract situation.

May 23, 200718 yr That's scary considering the Twins do their best work at raiding other teams farm systems...
May 23, 200718 yr Author QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 23, 2007 -> 09:25 AM) That's scary considering the Twins do their best work at raiding other teams farm systems... I'm sure they would find the next Jay Marshall or Fabio Castro to make their bullpen that much tougher.
May 23, 200718 yr QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 23, 2007 -> 10:14 AM) I'm sure they would find the next Jay Marshall or Fabio Castro to make their bullpen that much tougher. Fabio Castro has been demoted to AAA and he is on the Phillies who dont have what I call a strong bullpen and Jay Marshall has an era of 5.03

Rocky Biddle Gary Majewski Jon Rauch Bob Wickman Matt Guerrier Jason Grilli (although mostly an SF failure) Roberto Hernandez Bobby Howry Frank Francisco Fabio Castro Jay Marshall Boone Logan
May 24, 200718 yr QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 23, 2007 -> 04:58 PM) Just making a point that ONE thing we have produced is a plethora of relievers... Rocky Biddle Gary Majewski Jon Rauch Bob Wickman Matt Guerrier Jason Grilli (although mostly an SF failure) Roberto Hernandez Bobby Howry Frank Francisco Fabio Castro Jay Marshall Boone Logan the Sox really are pretty damn good at that. Jon Adkins is a decent 12th man in the pen (whether he was developed or not by the Sox is up to others to decide) and Royce Ring is pretty damn close to finally coming up and having a spot in the Padres bullpen.
May 24, 200718 yr wow...I forgot all about Rocky Biddle. What happened to him? Didn't he get traded to Montreal?
