Well that should do it.

The guy was getting liners hit against him all night, labored through 107 pitches....and you bring him back out when you have an off day the next day?

jon already over 100 and you PUT HIM BACK OUT?

jesus... i hate ozzie

Yeah, should of brought in the horrible bullpen to give up the runs.

QUOTE(Reddy @ May 23, 2007 -> 08:54 PM)
yep 1 run on 3 hits...

i mean it's not as bad as getting shut down by a guy with a 10 ERA but still... we should be able to manage 2 or 3 off this guy at the very least...

So what 5 hits in 11 innings and 1 run. God this guy looks like a combination of Johan Santana, and Sandy Kofax.

The bullpen would have been just as bad.

107 pitches isn't that many.

Tigers win, as they're getting big contributions from some no-name relievers.

nuh uh. i was about to make that argument then i looked at the facts:

- Jon worked HARD tonight

- threw 107 pitches thru 6

- thats what a bullpen is f***ing for

Well we could go back to the throw back days when our pitchers threw 130 to 150 pitches.

He started the inning at near 110 pitches. Did you think good things were going to happen.

He was throwing stressful pitches from literally the 3rd batter of the game. Doesn't really matter though...our offense looks lifeless tonight. Anyone with a brain could see that Garland was battling tonight, and we should have considered ourselves lucky as hell if he only allowed 2 runs.

The Sox bullpen is horrible.

I was just saying, no win situation. Gaudin ain't coming out, mid relief is awful, we were probably gonna give up runs either way and it doesn't look like we were gonna score 1. Can't win em all, tip your cap, we took 2 out of 3.

It's not like previous series where we won the first two than the bullpen blew a lead. We trailed. Take the off day, get ready for Tampa Bay.

So lets wax the starters for 120 plus down a few runs. Sure that makes sense. Enjoy the DL time for most of your starters when you do that all the time.

It's too bad that Sisco's suckiness makes have to pitch Thornton tonight. Man, Swisher without the hair swings look a stud against us.

lol wow a couple weeks ago everyone was singing the pen's praises - probably you included.

aardsma is still solid

thornton is solid

boone is solid

jenks is solid

mac and sisco have been having their issues but whatever - even they'd have a better chance in that situation than Jon

Should of never took Pablo out of the line up.

Well we are going to tip our caps when we face Shields, Kazmir and Santana 3 out of the next 4 games.

We need Thome to hit a 5-run home run soon.

Shields is a fastball/slider pitcher....won't be fun.

I hate getting shut down at home.

i just hate getting shut down.

0 for last 17. With Mackowiak swinging better, I wouldn't mind seeing him get a game in the 2nd spot this wknd.

A walk. Our 3rd baserunner.

Now Dye needs to hit one.

Give credit to Gaudin....he's putting his fastball wherever he wants it right now. As Rock says, at least this is another series win. It's going to be tougher than many think to win the Tampa series.
