Harry Potter Thread

So, the last book is getting released in, what a week and a half? And the movie comes out this week. I know I'm not the only one that's excited. . .

This was in the NYT Op-Ed section yesterday, and I enjoyed it immensely. Thought I would pass it along.

I just saw the first four movies for the first time in June, and I enjoyed them immensely.

I plan on seeing the fifth sometime soon (probably this week), and then I will be borrowing a friend's copy of the sixth book and eventually the seventh. I know it's not the best way to follow this story, but I'm having fun w/ it anyways.

I have my book 7 pre-order in at Barnes and Noble down the road and we have something lined up for the kids to do Saturday night when we go see Order of the Phoenix.

Can't wait. :headbang :headbang

Oh dang, I didn't realize the new movie was already coming out this week. I'll definitely be seeing that. I love all the Potter movies.

f*** yes, I love Harry Potter. This is gonna be a great next two weeks with both the book and movie coming out.

Im all over the book and movie, although I didnt pre-order the book.

Can't wait

My wife pre-ordered on Amazon. We have a system - she orders it and reads it... then I read it... then the movie comes out.

I'm looking forward to it as well. I hope I can keep away from spoilers, though. I'm re-reading all the books and I'm a little behind where I had planned to be (Book 4). I can wait for the movie to come out on DVD, which I'm sure will be in time for the Christmas season.

I enjoyed the books, and was a fan of the movies until the last one came out. I thought that one was just poorly done. There was just too much jumping around with the story (still bought the DVD though).

That depends on how fast you read, silly.

The Scholastic US edition will run 784 pages. about 90 pages less than Order of the Phoenix.

I'll need to stay faaar away from any spoiler-containing discussions around here, then. :D

Whats everybody's opinion on the movie? IMO Book>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Movie. It just never felt like the movie got started to me. Still liked it though.

As someone that's only seen the movies up to this point, this was my favorite one yet. I really liked the darkness of the story.

I plan on borrowing the 6th book to get caught up with the story and then eventually the 7th.

My wife is going to the movie tonight, while I am on Madison patrol.

I'll probably see it when it comes out on DVD. I like the series, but I am not a HUGE fan. I saw the last one on DVD as well.

Gonna go tonight after my soccer game.

I thought the movie was a VERY good adaptation of the book. Sure they left things out, but if they didnt... the movie would be 12 hours long! Well done!

On a side note: Nymphadora Tonks was freaking HOT in this movie!

From the book I thought Tonks' hair was supposed to be short and spikey.

didn't see the last movie, but I can't wait for the book

I read the 4th book right when it came out, but didn't read the 5th and 6th for some reason until last week, were I read both of them in like 3 days combined so I'll be good to go for the last book
