Darwin Walker Traded to Bears

Wanna calm down and quit crying? I didn't "put words in your post." And the Reggie Bush comparison is just stupid. Hmm, 2nd overall, or 3rd rounder?

It's not stupid, the argument is not based on draft round position. You said ALL college football footage is a moot point. There are plenty of 1st rd busts, just ask the Bengals of the 90's.

We now have extreme depth on the D-Line. I think the starting line will be Wale/Anderson, Tommie, Walker, and Alex Brown/Anderson.

Hester on O + Olsen + 1 more year for Rex + Mike Brown + Tommie + Walker + NO INJURES = SUPER BOWL :headbang

When and where did I say ALL college football footage was moot? I said "college football clips are moot at this point" referring to Dvoracek being a year out of school, coming off a season long injury, essentially meaning it would be comparable to handing a rookie 3rd round pick a starting job right away.

Wow, sweet! I leave for St. Louis and am cut off from the internet for a few days and see this trade. Good work, JA!

Now we've got a healthy Mike Brown...

I've said that many times before... I'm past the point of depending on him and anything we get will be gravy. I love Brown, but depending on him would be foolish and the Bears aren't this year.

Wow, what a move. Dusty becomes a 3 and gets a year or two of experience and the Bears get a guy that starts on damn near every team in the NFL (and is considered the best DT on a handful of teams). Geeze the Bears have gotten a s***load better the last week (adding Briggs back into the equation and signficantly upgrading the Dline).

Angelo strikes again...The depth we have on D this year is unreal. Let's just pray we can stay relatively healthy (no season-ending injuries) and get some good years from Brown and Wale. Both those guys played below expectations, IMO, last year.

Barring injuries, I really can't see the Bears not getting back to the superbowl.

WOW. John Clayton was talking on Mike and Mike. They asked him what was the most exciting thing he has seen in all the camps so far. First thing he mentioned, the bears OFFENSE. Yes the offense people. He said Hester was putting on a show in camp and compared him to Steve Smith but only faster. Also talked great about olsen. To see an unbiased point of view mention this gets me a little excited. Honestly, I never expected much from hester except for trick plays. We may have something good here. It's time to get excited about the O. I know all of us are a little worried because of Rex. A quarterback is like a starting pitcher , 1 game you can be DOMINANT, the next completely horrible. Starting pitchers and quarterbacks also can have career years. Don't count Rex out guys.

Rex had a decent year in his first full year, and by Bears QB standards he still is way at the top of the list(which isnt saying too much, but still). Rex will have more weapons to his disposal, another year with the same OC and the same playbook, and hopefully a little confidence more than cockiness after having a Superbowl year last year. The premise of the season will still be the same, the defense will do what they do and Rex really only has to manage the game, but the prospects of the offense are really exciting this year. If Rex can turn some of those total stinker games into merely mediocre games, his numbers will be through the roof.

I feel like a northsider, excited for the bears in July. :P

Wale has underperformed since he got here and he is usually playing against the weaker tackles.

To be fair, he has been plagued by so many lingering injuries in the past couple seasons. He's an above average DE, and when healthy, he could be one of the best in the game. I'm way more excited about Mark Anderson though. He is beastly.

I'm way more excited about

Devin Hester

because he is speedy.

Rex spent this off season working on his most pressing issue .... footwork. ( he of course took time off to fight evil and totally ravage his wife sexually)

If Rex can roll out of the pocket without falling over, set his feet and fire the ball accurately..... he's going to be a pro bowler and the bears will be contending again.

Have some faith in Rex..... Rex is not only a talented Quarterback, but he is going to be the most prolific Passer in Chicago Bears History.

I hope so.

Rex won us some games last year. St. Louis comes to mind, when the D couldn't stop them.

You are preaching to the choir, I really like Grossman, always have. Like I said, if he could take those horrible games he has and turn them into merely mediocre games, he will be a fantastic QB

Ummm...that's not really saying much. Luckman...one year of Erik Kramer aaaaaannnnnd that's about it.

But I hope you're right!

Sounded like it would be easy to get a deal done. Loving it.

shouldn't this just be added to the other big-ass darwin walker topic?

and yes, this was awesome.

i dont know if any of you heard JA on the Boers and Bernstein show yesterday, but I have never heard that guy laugh as much as he did with those two. It was odd to hear him when he isnt on the defensive.

B&B asked him about the upcoming team, JA said that Garrett Wolfe is who he foresees as his steal of the draft. He also said that if he hadnt been in Tampa when Warrick Dunn was drafted, he may not have felt that way about him, but he sees alot of Dunn in Wolfe.

Interesting what number he got.
