Cubs get Traschel

Featured Replies

The have him for this and next year. Sounds like they have to pick up his option.

THE RETURN OF THE HUMAN RAIN DELAY!

There isn't a pitcher in baseball I hate watching more than Trachsel.

Gotta give Hendry credit, he is going for it this year. I'm not sure how much this will help, but he is trying.

It's like they just go after everyone who's available. I think Trachsel sucks, so I hope he starts for them some games. I don't see why they need him.

Is he going to be added to the bullpen as a long man in case one of the starters struggle ? I don't understand this move.

The question being: Why?

Rocky Cherry and Scott Moore go to the O's.

Pretty hefty price for someone you dont need.

Keyur (Minneapolis, MN): Cubs just picked up Steve Trachsel, you thoughts?

SportsNation Keith Law: (2:21 PM ET ) Improvement over Marshall or Marquis. I'm just glad they waited until I left town. I can't stand watching that guy pitch. Can you imagine if he did an ESPN chat? He'd chat for three hours and answer five questions.

I think they picked him up just as insurance in case one of either Marquis, or Marshall start really struggling.

Rocky Cherry's a nice guy. I wish him the best. Of course, that's not Baltimore!

Scott Moore could be a diamond in a rough. Just two years ago he was considered one of their best spects.
