2007 Attendance was strong

According to http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/attendance, the white sox ranked 15th out of 30 in mlb attendance, which is actually a testament to the increase in attendance league wide. The sox drew just short of 2.7 Mil fans this year averaging 33,140 fans per game. I think thats pretty impressive given everything this team went through. I mean were talking about a 72 win team that was out of the race by June and had a streak where they lost 22 of 25 games and had a plethora or injuries. All and all I and I hope everyone else here is proud of the sox fan base for showing up and having a good team despite having a lousy product on the field. It makes the games more fun for everyone. What this really means is for the sox economically the 2008 payroll will probably not differ too much from 2007. I believe the 2007 net payroll was about 95-96 mil. I expect the 2008 payroll to be somewhere between 90-100 Mil.

That is really really strong attendance.

There once was a time a season like this would have meant horrible attendance.

2005 and 2006, despite not making the playoffs, were exciting seasons. If 2008 is like 2007, expect USCF to be empty in 2009.
