October 23, 200718 yr I got the email. Honestly at this point, I dont think much of the event like I did in years previously.
October 23, 200718 yr I wasn't that big of a fan of last year's set up and now to get in Friday I need to pay $250 if I am reading right. I think I may have to pass this year. Oh well, I guess.
October 23, 200718 yr QUOTE(Soxfest @ Oct 23, 2007 -> 04:57 PM) You rang?????????????? Stop charging so much and bring the show to Austin, Texas...I can guarantee 6 attendees.
October 23, 200718 yr QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Oct 23, 2007 -> 06:10 PM) No, bring it to Vermillion and I guarantee atleast 1 person will be there What's a Vermillion? You and heads need to move.
October 24, 200718 yr Wow. They have totally given the finger to the small budget fan. Soxfest used to be the one event that you didn't have to be rich to attend and have a chance at interacting with the players. It seems like even as a charity event, they are pricing the ordinary fans out of it.

Of course, the team's payroll has been huge for years now (compared to previously), and all these luxury add-ons are one of the reasons why its possible. Catch 22. By the way, one great way to get closer to the players for cheap is going to Spring Training games. Only problem is having to fly out there. Hmmm... Figure if you go cheaper on Southwest or something, you can get to Tucson for $200 or less RT. Add in two inexpensive hotel nights, that's another $150. Maybe even with the airfare and hotel its actually cheaper to do Spring Training.

Yeah its nice to raise money for charity, but with the prices at the ballpark, it would be nice if there was something left for the non-rich fans out there.
