They're holding their own so far. Nice pitchers duel in the 8th at Fenway.

I'm also watching the game, Manny broke a 0-0 tie in bottom 8th, bringing someone home on a single.

I don't see any way the cockroaches win this game. They have the bottom of the order with suckage like Punto against Papelbon.

Let's go Papelbon!!

Cockroaches lose!!! It's about damn time. 1.5 game lead now.

Boy it feels dirty rooting for Boston. Ah well, they got it done tonight, hopefully they keep it up.

Just think of it as rooting against Minnesota. The opposing teams uniform doesn't matter.

Boston and Cleveland playing for the Sox right now, as they respectively lead Minnesota and Detroit.

EDIT: Not anymore, damn it Red Sox.

Well, people like familiarity.

Do it some more!

Nice to see the Twins on their way to getting swept.

*knock on wood*

7-5 Sawx in the 6th.

Twins get bases loaded with an out in the 7th and don't score.

8-5 now. Varitek looped a single. Gardenhire got tossed. 1st and 3rd, 0 outs, for the BoSox.

9-5 now.

And now it's 12-5 after a 3 run Pedroia double. :headbang

Speak about a bullpen meltdown.

Make that 13-5- Youkilis just drove Pedroia in with a 2-bagger of his own.

Youkillis with another double 13-5

bout time the twins go on a losing streak

Manny singles, home comes Youkilis, 14-5

14-5, Manny drives Youkilis in with a single. :headbang

NICE!!! 3.5 games with 4 in the loss column would be nice.

I gotta say though, I've hated rooting for Manny, Youkilis and the Red Sox the last few days, and its gonna be nice to root against them again when they stop playing the Twins...

I'd love to see Detroit split the series with Minnesota coming up.

They have a fairly easy month of August, though. They play Seattle 9 times, Oakland 7 times, KC 3 times, Cleveland 3 times, and the Yankees 3 times (in Minnesota).

They also have a pretty easy month of September. Cleveland 3 times, Baltimore 3 times, Toronto 3 times, KC 6 times (all in Minnesota), and Detroit 3 times. At least we get to play them (unfortunately those 3 are in Minnesota) and at least they have to go to Tampa for 4.

I was walking to lunch when it was 3-0 MN after 1. I was a little annoyed but wishfully thought this will end up being one of those weird getaway day games that end up 12-5 Boston. I guess I didn't quite hit the nail on the head, but I am thrilled so far nonetheless.

Twins have 1st and 2nd, 0 outs. Here they come... :chair

EDIT- But the Sawx turn the 'ol 6-4-5 DP on Casilla and then they got Morneau to ground out. *Wipes forehead*

Kevin Cash homers in bottom 8th and Brandon Moss follows with a triple, still no out in bottom 8th. 15-5 Boston

16-5 bottom 8th :)
