Wasn't pods 22? Maybe it was field's heart's desire.

22 was Pods number. IIRC 22 was his college number so when it became available he wanted it.

22 was not his college number. Ozzie has his college number

I know you're all proud of my math. I don't know if that's the reasoning or not, but I'd rather have 22 than 27 as well.

That fact the 27 = 3*3*3 definitely makes it a cool number.

allllrite i'm sobering up. 22 was his minor league number in our orfganization I believe. He wanted it.
