April 2, 200818 yr QUOTE(Shadows @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 03:18 AM) I miss him already quit whining and be more pissed offed with me cuz the Sox still haven't signed Bonds
April 2, 200818 yr I cant wait to see threads talking about how much we want him back when he pitches well and then no threads at all when he gets beat up.
April 2, 200818 yr He had zero strikeouts and he was facing a young, aggressive batting order. Baseball Prospectus had a really interesting line on him, saying that 25% of his outs last year were lineouts. He's a league average pitcher and I'd bet some money he doesn't perform well this year at all.

April 3, 200818 yr QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 10:29 AM) I would take 5 Garlands over what we have now. I wouldn't go that far, but I would take three or four Garlands. I think five Garlands get you pretty damn close to a playoff spot.
April 3, 200818 yr QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 03:19 AM) quit whining and be more pissed offed with me cuz the Sox still haven't signed Bonds In all seriousness, if Thome went down with a season-ending injury, would Kenny pick up Bonds?
April 3, 200818 yr QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 10:29 AM) I would take 5 Garlands over what we have now. That's a $60 million rotation.
April 3, 200818 yr QUOTE(Vance Law @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 10:42 AM) That's a $60 million rotation. That's what we had the past few years.
April 3, 200818 yr QUOTE(Vance Law @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 10:41 AM) In all seriousness, if Thome went down with a season-ending injury, would Kenny pick up Bonds? I hope so.
April 3, 200818 yr QUOTE(Vance Law @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 10:41 AM) In all seriousness, if Thome went down with a season-ending injury, would Kenny pick up Bonds? Depends on what is needed at the time. If the team is in contention (ok I'm laughing too) then I'm not certain Bonds is the best option, but worth considering. If the team is out of contention, a sideshow to sell tickets could be just what the ball park needs, and I could see a call to Bonds.

Now that would be a show.
April 3, 200818 yr QUOTE(RME JICO @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 11:50 AM) Bring in Ricky Henderson to leadoff and Canseco to DH instead. Now that would be a show. Pull together an all-steroid team and sell two million tickets before they all are suspended.

April 7, 200818 yr QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 6, 2008 -> 11:51 PM) IIRC, didn't Garland always struggle against Texas? His 5.5 career ERA and WHIP dabbling somewhere around 1.5 might agree with you... he was complete trash against them in '04 and '05, his ERAs were like in the 7s and 8s
