Heh, I understood it immediately after my post. This is just the first instance I have heard the Tigers being referred to as the Bengals.

Listen you young whippersnapper you. They have been called different names just like the Sox for many many years.

Growing up listening to Hawk talk about the Carmines and the Palehose (that would be a great moniker) has gotten me conditioned to this renaming of teams.
