2 opposite field swings for Thome in one game? Hopefully he starts coming around.

I'll tell you exactly what happened. Usually in those spots, the RF will take control due to having a good throwing arm. Swisher thought Dye was going to call him off, but he never did.

Put Anderson in CF, move either Quentin or Swisher to RF and Dye to DH.

I agree, that was great. The term "boiled over" comes to mind.

BTW, read the NFL offseason thread on the Patriots stuff. What a pathetic organization.

just read it. Thats good I hate the patriots

anyways

so that bat Buerhle was taking hacks with was Uribes? I wasnt paying complete attention but was he pissed or something? because really i think Mark was just trying to put some life into the bat since Juan cant

CF, you either bench PK or Swisher.

and what order of the lineup?

QUOTE (WillieHarris2 @ May 8, 2008 -> 03:13 AM)
either way he must have called that ball so he should've gotten in position

i dont see how that excuses him

It doesn't, no one said he played it well.

so where in the lineup would you like to see him and why?

Why NOT? Anderson in his limited at-bats has hit better than anyone is right now and it's not like substituting a guy who's not hitting (which as far as I can tell Anderson IS hitting) for a guy who's not hitting is a big deal... -_-

Who the hell cares about the order? We have a guy with an OPS around .550 leading off.

And bench Thome? The only guy with the right approach tonight?

At least he's trying something different. It seemed he was getting himself tangled up before because he was too hunched at the plate.

Juan came back to the end of the bench, looked at the bat, looked back at Buehrle and laughed. Apparently, he was happy because he plans on using the wood to make burgers on the barbecue.

This is the lineup I would like to see tomorrow:

Anderson CF

Cabrera SS

Thome DH

Dye RF

Quentin LF

AJP C

Swisher 1B

Crede 3b

Uribe 2b

come on fathom...i am curious as to where you would put em? i am thinking put that man 3rd or 4th in the lineup. put as much pressure on him as possible and see how he performs. that might also pull JT's head outta his assfunk

According to Hawk, Experience buys you shorter slump times.

I guess a year and a half is shorter than say what 7 years.

Anderson can't crack the lineup as a defensive specialist right now. There is no way Ozzie has him leading off. We will have the same lineup until we are in 4th or 5th place.

Whens the f***ing reaper coming. No consequences on this team = no one cares about bad play.

Morneau with another opposite field hit. I wish the Sox would do that.

Its amazing how MVP types like Morneau and Mauer can go oppo. I wonder if Walker watches them and gets confused.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Yeah, I heard some of that (believe it or not, I'm switching back and forth to the far more entertaining Top Chef). Wow; if he hadn't before, I believe that Hawk just jumped the shark. He now exists, completely and wholly, in a world of self-parody. He's redefined the whole concept.

In fact, I will now simply call it "jumping the Hawk."

You have to put blame on Walker after a while. Pierzynski was a 300 hitter before coming to the Sox. Thome was a prominent hitter (though age/injuries have slowed him down), Swisher has looked nothing like the one from OAK, Cabrera is hitting .200, Uribe just continues his decline....

If he could, Ozzie would bat Thome 3rd, 4th, 5th and leadoff.

Actually, Pierzynski was not a .300 hitter before coming to the Sox...he only hit .272 with the Giants hte year before he came to CHW.
