oops, 8 pitch leadoff walk to Gomez

great AB from gomez....not sure why john was afraid of the curve ball or change up there

Danksy better find that control

come on John, got to throw strikes

OK, fell behind 2-0, but got a pop up, 1 out runner on 1st

Vinny Del Negro? Really??? oh well, sox are going to good to worry about the bulls right now.

nobody would ever do it...but if there ever was a time to let a pop up drop and get the guy at 2nd it was right there

Come on Johnny, let's step it up now...

Mauer is raking against lefties, only 60 ABs, but .367 BA and his 2 HRs are against lefties

tight zone...i hope our guys are noticing

this is a total hindsight 20/20 thing, and not original, but the Twins and MLB got killed that the Twins were forced to pick Mauer over Prior in the draft because of $$, damn, worked out well

Nicely done! Free outs are good.

picked off...nice

excellent, pickoff and a flyout, good job pitching over that leadoff BB

ive stopped listening to the people that doubt their drafts...they took revere last year like 2 rounds ahead of where anyone had him going, and he hit like .340 albeit in rookie ball but still

oh and hes hitting .422 through 130 ABs in A ball

Yeah, I think we've seen firsthand those mofos can develop players. Mauer is one hell of a player. Is there any talk of taking him from behind the plate? It probably is too early in his career for that though.

seems like Perkins doesn't walk a ton of people, but gives up a lot of hits.

damn thats a double with almost any other CF out there

1-2-3 in the 1st. Is the first time Sox are seeing Perkins?

First time they seen him starting, have seen him in bullpen where he has been relatively successful vs us I think. Probably as a starter he has 1-2 more pitches the sox havent seen.

I hope we can get Line, Jenks, and Thornton some work today- it's been awhile.

1-2-3 for Danks.

quick 1-2-3 inning by danks

7 pitches that inning
