Amazing that no Hawks team had ever done that before.

Craigslist and Stubhub if you are quick, but I have also heard some tickets getting offered around the office and mutal friends. The best deal I have heard so far was $300 for two of the middle tier of seats.

There will be a ton available the night before and day of as well. If you REALLY want to go, go scalp.

They really should've made this game at Soldier Field. Cooler conditions and way better sightlines for such an event. Everyone, even the people in the "close" seats will have a terrible view.

I have been saying that ever since they started talking about Wrigley as the locale for this game. Not to mention 25,000 more people could have gone to the game. Wrigley was just a dumb idea.

The Wrigley decision was not made with the fans in attendance in mind.

Like it or not, Wrigley Field is an iconic location, and more casual fans or non-fans will tune in for a hockey game at Wrigley than they would for a hockey game at USCF or Soldier.

That was the main consideration.

The Winter Classic is a total made-for-TV event. Any doubt as to that went out the window when they announced the rink configuration with the goals at first and third, so that NBC could shoot the iconic Wrigley scoreboard over center ice. If they had cared about the paying customers even getting to see the puck, they would have put the goals near left field and the visitors' on-deck circle, where the Bears used to have their endzones. Then at least fans along the third base line could have followed some of the game.

It was a clean hit. Kane's leg got caught under him and twisted in a very bad position.

A bounty on Cleary would be unfair to him and a cheap move IMO.

Yep, you beat me to the punch. I posted the same thing (they are due for a stinker) about the Sharks when they were red hot only to get blown out in Detroit recently. And if you are due for a stinker, Detroit can pounce on such an opportunity. Hopefully the Hawks get them back on New Years.
