I've been voting this entire time.

JD is up against Giambi, Jose Guillen, Longoria, and Roberts.

I think Dye deserves it over every one of those guys with the possible exception of Guillen. You could make a case Longoria could deserve it, solely because of the rip-job of him not making the team over Crede.

I've been giving the NL vote to Wright. Either way, I could care less. I would like to see C-Lee in the HR Derby.

Quentin is a stud and all... but I think Dye deserves it more.

I don't. Quentin carried this team when no one else was hitting. Dye has been turning it around drastically, but there is hardly a person in baseball who deserves to be an all star more than Quentin. Their stats alone are pretty even, but that doesn't tell the whole story. Anyway, I voted many times for Dye and him making the team is a forgone conclusion, imo.

Quentin is a stud and all... but I think Dye deserves it more.

It shouldn't have been before the 2. Ichiro is hitting .280. Dye's BA is about 30-40 points higher then Manny's, and his SLG is in the .500's while Manny's is in the .400's. Manny's OBP is only about 8-10 points better then Dye's.

 

Dye deserved it over Manny and Ichiro x10.

JD deserves to be there big time. If Crede's somehow there, so should Jermaine.

 

 

Any White Sox player who makes the All-Star team deserves to be there. I am sure that's what you meant though.

I strongly disagree with all of you. Dye has been very good for us this year, but he does not deserve to get voted in over Longoria. The all star game is made so worthless by all the fan voting. Because the players who are more well liked (usually due to what team they're on) are the ones who become all stars, not the ones who deserve it per their performance on the year.

 

Vote Longoria. If you vote a player in just because he plays for your team than you are just as bad as all those people who voted for the Boston/Yankee players like crazy.

 

The all star game should be a matter of performance, not popularity.

 

Now some could make an argument that Dye is more deserving than Longoria, if you really feel that way than vote for him. But considering that Evan started the year after Dye, and has played GG caliber defense, you gotta put him in there over JD.

because we get snubbed, we snub them. I won't cry for the tampa bay fans. They probably won't notice anyways.

Statistically, Dye has had a better season than Longoria, imo. Plus, there is more of a need on the all star team for another OF as opposed to another 3Bman, imo.

for real, we aren't talking about a varitek/AJ difference here. Any of these guys could make it and be pretty deserving

 

Unlike when Pods or AJ won it, one thing working against us this year is we are on the road the entire week during the Final Vote voting. No stump speeches by Buehrle telling fans at the game to vote. Didn't the Sox set up like voting stations at the park too? Its up to the die-hard fans to vote early and often and get other who really don't care to vote to get Dye in this game..........and maybe Rowand.

dye has outperformed longoria, or is very similar to longoria in every offensive category...and has only played in 6 more games than evan.....if you wanna put longoria in for his D, fine...but you would have difficult time convincing anyone that longoria has been better than dye on O
