AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!

Great defense from Juan, great offense from Griffey, (outside of the 6th) great pitching from Javy, Jenks and Dotel were both solid......we needed a win badly and it's nice to get one.

Rally Chops had a nice debut tonight.

They're going to interview Griffey. Will Toby pie one of the greatest of all time?

I believe in Rally Chops.

Its great to see Griffey not swinging for the fences on those 2 out rbi singles.....man he is going to be big for this team if he stays healthy me thinks.

Where the hell did you come up with "rally chops" Heads?

Also, it's nice that we won a low scoring game with pitching, defense, and some clutch 2 out hits. We haven't done that hardly at all lately, but pitching and defense have been our formula when we're at our best this year.

It might be best thing for him not to be the center of the offense.

It's the logo for the Iowa AHL team.

It's pretty badass.

I don't know if they call a cut of pork chop an "Iowa Chop" outside of the state, though.

We call a cut of pork chop "a cut of pork chop" here in Illinois.

I've done my share of complaining about the dropoff in Jenks' stuff, but he has been absolute money this year. Great game by Javy too, hopefully he can get a nice streak going.

Watching Ken Griffey Jr. out there in a White Sox uniform was one of the most beautiful things I've seen in my life. Awesome debut.

Also, it's nice to see the bullpen not give up any runs.

Garfein on the latest Sox controversy

After the game inside the White Sox clubhouse, a debate was raging.

Not if a trade was potentially looming,

Not if the Sox will be able to hold off the Twins for the division.

But instead, a discussion between Mark Buehrle and Bobby Jenks arguing whether Coca-Cola was darker than Grape soda.

I kid you not.

Buehrle, representing Coke, had poured some of his drink on a table.

And Jenks, backing Grape, had done the same with his drink right next to it.

So I’m standing there, both puzzled and entertained, until Buehrle turns to me hoping to settle it.

“So what do you think is darker, Coke or Grape soda?”

Well, I’m not exactly a chemist, but I have spent most of my life drinking Coke, and it seems pretty dark to me. And if I remember back to my box of Crayola crayons, brown and black were darker than purple, right?

So I chose Coke.

Buehrle was satisfied. Jenks was not.

Check back tomorrow when we’ll compare the difference between Root Beer and Dr. Pepper.

The most shocking part of that is the thought that there are people who drink grape soda.

I found slight concern when I realized the last former #1 overall pick to patrol CF for the White Sox also wore 17. Then I realized that said player also grew up in North Dakota and that's as big of a reason as any as to why he sucks.

GRIFFEY

:notworthy Griffey

Grape pop and grape drink are both fabulous.

So I missed the whole game because of work again, but nice to see Junior contributes right off the bat.

What i don't know is how did he perform out there in CF? Than again, Javy (by his line) locked the Royals so I bet Junior didn't have a chance to show off?

Can anyone spare some info on how he looked out there?

General grape drink=good

Grape pop/grape soda=awful

It must be the carbonation or something, but any grape drink in a can is horrific. If you get it in one of those big plastic containers, like a quart or gallon, it's good though. At that point though it's grape "drink", not soda/pop IMO.

Nice to see some 2 out RBIs. Keep the line moving. Nice game overall.
