Sox Fan Bernie Mac Dies

That's terrible and (seemingly) unexpected. He's definitely a guy I always liked as an actor/comedian... 50 is just so young. My thought and prayers will go out to his family.

Young. Way too young.

They must have changed the url but you can still access the story through the Sun-Times front page.

Awful and sad. Everyone was reporting that he was doing so much better.

RIP BMac. He got to see a World Series.

That just made me very sad. Prayers to his family.

How come this isn't being reported anywhere now? Even the Sun Times took their report down.

The coverage of this has been weird. Hopefully he is not gone.

Was just on CNN.

Just saw on MSNBC that Bernie Mac died from pneumonia at the age of 50.

Actor and comedian Bernie Mac dies at age 50

Emmy- and Golden Globe-nominated actor and comedian Bernie Mack has died at age 50, his publicist said Saturday.

Publicist Danica Smith said Bernie Mac died early Saturday at a hospital in the Chicago area of complications due to pneumonia.

The comedian suffered from sarcoidosis, an inflammatory lung disease that produces tiny lumps of cells in the body’s organs, but he had said the condition went into remission in 2005. He recently had been hospitalized and treated for pneumonia.

Mac had starring roles in “Ocean’s Eleven,” “Bad Santa,” “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle” and “Transformers.”

The comedian drew critical and popular acclaim with his Fox television series “The Bernie Mac Show,” which aired more than 100 episodes from 2001 to 2006.

I personally think it belongs here.

RIP. So young at only 50.

I remember laughing my a$$ off at Kings of Comedy. He was one of the best.

He was awesome. Too many great comedians leaving us this year. Very sad.

How unfortunate. He was a very good man, a fun comedian, and really enjoyed life. He'll be missed.

RIP Bernie Mac

OMG! This is so shocking and saddening.

I can't believe I'm about to type this...

RIP Bernie... you'll be missed.

From Pneumonia??? Isn't it rare nowadays to die from that?

I think he had some disease and pneumonia was an offshoot of that. Kinda like HIV...you don't die from HIV, you die from the sickness you can get from the HIV-weakened immune system.

Always sad to see a Sox fan and Chicagoan go, especially so young.

Bernie was the epitome of cool. We'll miss you Mac!

I remember when he sang the 7th inning stretch in Game 6 for Cubs/Marlins and said "Root, root, root for the champs!" and cursed them even more. I'll love him for that.

That's what I was hinting at, I bet that was the case.
