August 10, 200817 yr More sad celebrity news: http://www.stuff.co.nz/stuff/4650656a1860.html I hope his remaining days are comfortable.
August 10, 200817 yr This sucks. First Bernie Mac, then Issac Hayes, now this. At least Morgan Freeman survived, and Newman is still alive at least for now, but they always come in threes.
August 10, 200817 yr Paul Newman is just plain awesome. He's one of those guys that you can easily say is one of the greatest actors ever.
August 11, 200817 yr QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 06:14 PM) Slap Shot, The Hustler, Cool Hand Luke... His Oscar nominations stretch all the way from 1959 with Cat on a Hot Tin Roof to 2003 Road to Perdition. The Color of Money / Hustler was a unique twist as well.

August 11, 200817 yr This is very sad news. At least he'll be able to spend his last days in the location of his request and with the people that are closest to him. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and Cool Hand Luke were the first two films that made me a Newman fan. I really liked his work and admire what he did. He is definitely up there as one of my favorite actors. Also can't forget his collaboration with another of my favorite actors, Steve McQueen, in The Towering Inferno.
August 11, 200817 yr Just watched "The Sting" again this weekend. Newman is one of my favorite actors.
