There's just no excuse to have a pitcher with a 5.52 ERA coming into a 1 run game in the 8th inning with 50 games left in a pennant race.

if he can't throw strikes, why the f*** is he on the team. that's my question. that ERA is laughable, i'm sure his whip is hilarious...

yep, 1.64 lol

Logic went out the window, when Ozzie decided to trot General Soreness out in CF, with a young kid with a no hitter, in the 7th inning in a 1-0 game. None of these scream 38 year old corner OF in CF.

Gosh, this umpire f***ing sucks.

General Soreness is a great name for Griffey

Man and the bullpen looking stellar once again here....

That one's on blue. That was such an obvious K there....JESUS.

okay... only give them 1 here.... double play then lets get out of this.

That sucked. We're getting squeezed on this strike zone though.

Man this first place, second place shift day in and day out is gonna kill me.

There won't be a pennant race with 15 games to go (see 2003) if we completely burn out and overexpose Thornton, Dotel and Jenks.

Linebrink probably won't be coming back...and Ozzie needs to find a fourth reliever that he can count on somehow. There's no better way than now. He could be forced to use someone like Russell in Minnesota with a week to go and down by two games in the standings, it's better to establish exactly what he has right now. Russell has the third best "stuff" of anyone in the bullpen, arguably (although you could certainly make a case for Dotel, even with a diminished arsenal after injury). He should/could be someone you project as that missing piece, because we're not going to get much better from someone we can sneak through waivers, unless KW is willing to take on another big contract (Dotel, Linebrink, Jenks after this season, Thornton and MacDougal) in the pen.

That 5th pitch to Drew looked like a strike for sure

Oh no, most stop believing as soon as we are down 1 run. The season is over.

So, Beckett = Maddux?

And of course he clears the f***ing bases here.... nice f***ing job Thornton. What the hell happened to this f***ing pen?

As far as this game: belief stopped.

Russell's stuff is nothing special. 94 mph fastball, extremely flat slider. I'm not blaming Ozzie for this....KW's inability to find another righty reliever is killing us.

the joe morgan kiss of death.

aloha, and maholo.

Give it up

9th double. We wasted a couple of bullpen arms. I'm not blaming this on Ozzie, but I am blaming him for tomorrow when he says we have a tired bullpen. He should've left Horacio in there, but took him out for no reason.
