FWIW, my brother saw Hughes pitch last week in the IL playoffs, and he said he was fantastic. K'd 12 in 5 innings.

I didn't want to create a thread for this, but what's everyone's prediction for this 10 game road trip?

I'm really hoping 5-5 but I might be satisfied with 4-6 if we took two from the twins.

At least the Sox starting pitching has looked good recently.

 

Im pretty sure Ozzie just couldnt burn his bullpen after yesterday, so he was trying to see if Wasserman could get the job done. Sucks that we are tinkering at the end of the season but right now the Sox are running on fumes. They just need to make the playoffs so that they can go out there and put the best relievers in every game and not worry. If Linebrink, Thornton, Jenks and hell even Dotel were available tonight there is no way Wasserman pitches.

 

We just need to some how get through this.

 

And McDougal getting some outs, where was he to start the 7th, at least he has some stuff.

While I think the same thing, remember we play the Royals. All I want is a split against the Yankees, 2 from the Royals, and see what happens in Minny.

If we get to the playoffs, I don't think I would be that mad if they don't move on. Considering the injuries, just making the post-season would be amazing. Of course I say this now and if we do make the playoffs, I probably will be extremely pissed off if we don't move on. I really feel like we are 2-3 moves away from being a WS contender. Unfortunately, i don't see it right now.

I'd take 2 wins here, 2 wins in KC, and 1 win in Minny, with the 1 win in Minny being the msot important.

 

If I had to guess I'd say 1 win here, 2 wins in KC, and 1 in Minny. I guess that would make us 1 up (1/2 really) going into the last series of the year.

yeah actually if we make the playoffs i think the bullpen will at least be better seeing as how we can use thornton carrasco and jenks every game if need be...still though...gotta get there

Begs the question...what would you rather have: Either giving Richard or Broadway a start...or having short rotation and relying on this bullpen for 4 innings? Personally...I'd have rather given Broadway a start. Ok...lemme have it.

Holy crap, Mac is boring.

They say that MacDougal cleaned up his delivery, but he looks like the same guy to me -- ball moves a ton, and he has no idea where it's going.

Luckily, it looks like we'll miss Greinke and Meche this weekend.

Mac wouldve walked Nady to start the other inning, and same thing wouldve happened: a lot of suck.

I'd rather have Carrasco start every 5th game. This is two games now since we went to this bullpen where the quality starts by our pitchers were wasted because they had to be pulled early.

anyone else want to absolutely destroy the person at this game who keeps making that noise...sounds like two metal rods being banged together to the "duh duh duh dadadad lets go" thing

At least we can all take comfort in that the Twins' bullpen is at least as bad as the Sox'.

Indians with the bags loaded, no outs. Twins have Reyes in.

Griffey looks about the same speed as Swisher would be out there, w/ better arm. It's not saying a ton but I really didnt think that was possible before.

We are gonna have to start using Linebrink in close games.
