2009 schedule announced for White Sox

Featured Replies

Whose bright idea was it to have one of the Cubs series in the middle of the week? Also, a 6 game road stretch to Cleveland and Detroit to end the season can't be good.

This schedule has to be bogus. We don't open against Cleveland.

How about that 10 game road trip in August? 4 at Boston, 3 at NYY, and 3 at Minnesota. Ouch!

We open at home against KC according to that...

Aug 24th though Sept 2nd. Ten games, on the road vs Boston, New York and Minnesota. OUCH

Too funny.

Upon 1st glance...it looks pretty even and not too many extremely long trips, other than the one in August. @Mil will be cool. Need to develop a rivalry there.

Yeah, really...i dont remember it ever being during the week before...the saturday afternoon games of both series each year are always so much fun to go to...

Thoughts:

That 10 game road trip in early april seems brutal.

Prediction: Apil 27, The return of Ken Griffey Jr to Chicago. ( I predict he will sign with the mariners this off season.)

Are we going to play the dodgers every year?

Why do we never seem to play the mets?

Seems boring to play the NL central , although likely good for our overall record.

Redsox-Yanks-Twins 10 game road trip from 8/24- 9/2 . ouch

The last 6 games of 2009 have the potential to be very important and tough at the same time. ( on the road vs Cle and Det)

Too funny. I can honestly say I typed the same thing in my open window without looking at your comment.

makes perfect sense, economically. Week day games are harder to sellout. Sox-Scrubbies will sellout regardless of when its played. Extra money in the pocket!!!

I guess you thought the same too! lol OUCH!

Why are we playing the Dodgers? Are they doing away with the division rotation? It should be the NL East this year.

Sweet. MILLER PARK. Finally. :headbang

Also good news for us that the Cubs face the rest of the AL Central... except for the Royals.

Yeah, but that series is at Wrigley. They could play Lane Tech High School on a Wednesday in February and it would sellout as long as the beer vendors were coming.

It at Wrigley though. Likely won't make much of a difference.

Watch 2009 KC Royals be awesome a la 2008 TB Rays and win the pennant where they face the Cubs. Milwaukee will lose the division because they struggle at the Metrodome and the Cubs get several additional games in Milwaukee due to a Tsunami that ravages the NL West.
