I thought this was just a radio jingle, I had no idea it was a real song from "The Fixx"

The sooner they stop showing it the better. Its almost as bad as seeing Kelly Clarkson every other commercial during the 05 season and playoffs for the Ford commercial

That commercial doesn't bother me all that much. It has nothing on This is our country.

Just to be clear, the commercial isn't playing the original Fixx song. Its a muzak remake of it.

The Fixx pretty much only had two hits and that was one of them. Don't pretend you're too young to remember suffereing through them the first time around. ;)

He's not pretending to be young, he just doesn't remember.

This commercial drives me nuts. Of course, a friend constantly sings it because he knows how much i hate it.

I was 5 when this song came out. So there is no pretending, I have absolutely no recollection of this song. Im listening to it on youtube right now, its not as hideous as the radio jingle, but its not good at all.

Toyota used the same song in an equally relentless ad campaign 7-8 years ago. I know because I couldn't stand the song then so I assumed everyone disdained it. I downloaded it, pumped the volume way up, looped the song and left my dorm room to hysterical results.

god I hate it with a passion....

although, not as much as the damn Chevy John Mellencamp crap that was played 15-20 times in every major sporting event I watched on TV for 3 years...

no wonder why Chevy is going to go out of business...

That commercial and the dang Subway $5 footlong jingle drives me friggin' crazy.

The original Fixx song sucked also. But I love, love, LOVE "One Thing Leads To Another".

So I'm not the only $5 person. God damn I love having a DVR.

I always liked the Fixx song "Stand or Fall".

It had a stupid video, but it's a good song.

I still have SHUTTERED ROOM on CD, pretty decent 80s album and it has both STAND OR FALL and RED SKIES ("Red skies at night...")

Not really a big fan of their later material, but DRIVEN OUT (from their CALM ANIMALS album) is pretty cool as well.

This is my favorite song by The Fixx, Secret Separation:

I liked Saved By Zero but it's been played out, as has One Thing Leads To Another.

Lack of listening to the radio has saved almost every popular song I like from being played out to me.

All their videos were stupid.

:D

Reach the Beach was my fave Fixx song (from the album of the same name). I owned Fixx cassettes and, I think, a record, at one time.

Is it the guy in the diaper that wins the song over for you?

Yeah, I like every video with a diaper dude in it.

Lord, I thought you would have grown sick of that by now.

Those directv commercials with clips of movies annoy the hell out of me. You see the same commercial every f***ing commercial break it seems like. I mean those commercials aren't that bad of an idea IMO, but they shouldn't have the same movie clip but rather alternate them.

Also, I hate the viva Viagra commercial. Not only is it annoying, it's awkward as hell when you're watching tv with family. I think every commercial involving the phrase "ED" should be banned.

Agreed 100%. My wife had company over one night. The last was in her 60's. The play-offs were on, and obviously during evefry single commercial break there were commercials for that stuff. The volume was also obviously 100x louder for them, so there I was diving across the room to turn the damn volume down every time.

Agree as well. My young kids have got to be wondering what this Viagra stuff is for and why it's making all the grandpas and grandmas on teevee dance so much.

Our local go-kart park is on my list as well for the same reason. Their peewee karts have cool sponsor paint jobs on them like real race cars - Hardees and Penzoil and the like. But why on earth would they also include a kiddie kart with a Viagra logo painted on it??
