Its spring training. When was the last time the Sox had a spring training above .500? I can't recall.

Hey NorthSide, this is a little OT but... where did you your little strip sig? I've been meaning to ask you for a while.

That would be 2004.

oh god I was joking hahahaha, the fact that that was taken seriously is a testament to this wonderful board lol

If there are any members of Soxtalk actually attending the game today, we'd love updates or a recap.

I was aware, but I wanted to take the opporunity to point out how badly this particular team tends to do in ST.

PBP might go something like this:

There will be a live box score. Look at the front page of the Sox website.

I'm hearing that the Slayer and The Pimp might be playing today. And they chose not to cover this game??? I'd take getting a glimpse of the organizations future over 9 innings of Ben Broussard any day

Gavin Floyd v Jason Hirsh for the Rox. Whitesox.com main page says Beckham & Viciedo in the lineup.

Floyd, Carrasco, Egbert, Broadway, Nunez, German all scheduled to pitch today.

i think broadway is a darkhorse to make the team as a long man in the pen this year....youd think the organization has soured on him as a starter, especially with poreda, marquez, richard on the way, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if they take a guy who can eat innings for when Colon/Jose pitch...while keeping those other young guys as starters in AAA (or in the case of Richard as a lefty in the pen)

That video was hilarious.

Broadway might be somewhere between 8th and 10th on the starting pitching depth chart if Colon and Contreras are healthy. This is how I see things today. Broadway probably fits about the same spot, if not lower in the bullpen.

lineup:

Wise, CF

Anderson, B, RF

Konerko, 1B

Wise in CF? Are we really talking like that's a legitimate option for this team?

Over/Under us scoring one run in this game with this lineup.

Brian just scored from first on a double.

Cowley:

Dayan Viciedo's first major-league at-bat? Ripped a hard single to left.

Where are you seeing the updates? Mlb.com's box score hasn't shown anything yet.
