Some pitchers going tonight that are worth watching.

Need some baseball other than the crap the Sox are putting up right now.

Ahh, Hudson is pitching tonight! Gives me something to look forward to concerning white sox baseball.

I'm pretty stoked about Omogrosso. I don't know if he has the secondary stuff to be a starter, but he's got a big league arm and should be in Chicago this year if they rebuild or retool.

Let's hope Contreras is getting back onto the right track. The boys are needing all of the help that they can get.

I like some of the pitching prospects we may see for next year - Poreda, Omogrosso, even Torres as potential starters, along with Richard if he can stabilize. Link in the bullpen. Not exactly stacked, but, a few nice arms to consider. Everyone talks about the position players, with good reason, but there are some pitchers worth watching for 2010 too.

By the way, anyone have any idea what the hell happen to Justin Cassel? Dud won an ERA crown in AA last year, and has been atrocious this year in Charlotte. He's also been on the DL. I wonder if he's still got an injury.

No offense NS, but these team will suck a long time if they consider Torres or Whisler a long term option. Same with Cook. Maybe they find a way as a last man in the pen or in Cook's case a 4th or 5th outfielder but anything more and its a bad sign.

Who said anything about Whisler or Cook?

I've said before I think Cook is being underutilized, but for pitching, I am NOT saying Whisler is some great prospect. I do think that the pitchers I mentioned are intriguing though.

And I'm saying Carlos Torres is no different than those other players. They are what they are and they might get a chance somewhere but if you plan on winning it won't be in Chicago. They might find a home with the Pirates as a 5th starter for a few seasons just logging innings and than eventually develop into a decent relief piece but they aren't anything more and if thats what we have to get excited about than I throw up at that thought.

Link is the only thing remotely passable down in AAA, maybe Cassel if he figures his stuff out but his velocity is poor since the injury (and it wasn't good to begin with) and he doesn't have enough of the other stuff to succeed, imo. Lucy isn't bad as a potential backup catcher, again, nothing more.

Be nice if Anderson could get a couple solid hits tonight. Is a lefty or a righty on the mound facing Charlotte?

Birmingham has the A lineup going for the first time since Danks got called up and Beckham came off the DL. Should be good.

Facing a righty tonight. BA struck out in his first AB.

Through 4, Hudson has 5 K's, 0 BB's. Given up 2 runs, 1 earned, and 3 hits. The 1 ER came on a HR.

The unearned run was a result of a passed ball by Adam Ricks.

Winston Salem is down 2-0 right now.

Charlotte's up 2 on a home run by Myrow, Contreras with 0 hits, 1 k, 2 walks through 3. Anderson 0/2. 38 pitches, 24 strikes for Jose.

Hudson's numbers really remind me of McCarthy, for some reason. Hudson, in my opinion, is a better pitching prospect than Poreda.

3 pitches and Danks is gone already.

Contreras just had a 6 pitch inning with 1 k.

I've been saying Hudson is the best starting pitching prospect we have for a while. Something about him screams no. 2 or 3 starter to me. I've only seen a little of him, but what I have seen, I really liked.

Omogrosso is getting tagged. 3-0 in the 1st.

Contreras no hitter thru 6. Might just be a new pitching prospect for us.

If Contreras no-hits Toledo, can we call him up and DL Gavin for something?

Sure.

Maybe Anderson needs more seasoning. 0/3, 2 k's.

Danks flew out. Improving.

Barons down 3-1. Retherford Sac Fly.
