June 10, 200916 yr QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 08:06 PM) I don't think so cause there is no guarantee Phegley can stick behind the plate. according to keith law at espn (who most people don't trust but still he knows more than we all do) he was a sandwich pick if teams thought he would stick at C and probably shouldn't have been any higher than 5th rounder if hes not
June 10, 200916 yr can we keep info about the game out of here? I'm tivoing the game right now, and focusing on the draft... Edited June 10, 200916 yr by BearSox
June 10, 200916 yr I can't think of two teams better positioned to dominate for the next 5-7 years than the Orioles and Rangers.
June 10, 200916 yr QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 08:09 PM) What happened? Dontrelle had a pitch close to AJ's head, and the next at-bat there was some jawing on the way back from AJ being thrown out at first.
June 10, 200916 yr QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 09:10 PM) I can't think of two teams better positioned to dominate for the next 5-7 years than the Orioles and Rangers. Diamondbacks.

June 10, 200916 yr since this has turned into a quasi game thread....i love gordon beckhams approach...hes been up the middle -other way in everyone of his ABs
June 10, 200916 yr Wow, looking at how Heckathorn pitches. If he doesn't change that arm action his arm is going to fall off.
June 10, 200916 yr QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 08:09 PM) according to keith law at espn (who most people don't trust but still he knows more than we all do) he was a sandwich pick if teams thought he would stick at C and probably shouldn't have been any higher than 5th rounder if hes not I think he'll be able to stick behind the plate. He's got a strong arm and is supposedly really smart and calls a good game. Could be a solid catcher with more work on his lateral movement.
June 10, 200916 yr QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 08:10 PM) Diamondbacks. They're right there. But a lot of their young studs currently on the ML team, outside of Upton, have yet to make an impact. Edited June 10, 200916 yr by Jordan4life
June 10, 200916 yr QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 06:59 PM) Hey look, a football player - outfielder with speed. What a surprise. And a big hole in his swing.
June 10, 200916 yr Scouting director Doug Laumann calls Mitchell "high ceiling, athletic type of player" and the "best player on the board.
June 10, 200916 yr Chris Dominguez still on the board... I would love to get him. Also, a bullpen arm that'd be interesting in Ben Tootle. He's got a really good arm and could be ready for a role in the pen come 2010.
June 10, 200916 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 08:14 PM) Draft tracker stalled again...can someone link me to a working one? stopped for me too...what a piece of crap.... also congrats on gaining the second row of squares that tracks your post count

I'm tivoing the game right now, and focusing on the draft... maybe unfair to single this out, but cmon man watch the game. so many of these young guys will never be heard from again in a meaningful way.
