As for the throws, its just going to take time and practice. 3b to 1b is a much different throw than he is used to.

According to the announcers, Beckham basically told them he has no idea what he's doing out there. He absolutely has to stop throwing so high over to 3rd base though. Throw it low and give PK a chance at least.

I'm not sure everyone wanted to see Beckham play out of position. Josh Fields, at this point, is probably a better hitter than Getz. Getz fields his position better. Beckham, so far, has been significantly worse than Fields at 3rd imo.

It would make more sense if we had a guy who would put up better numbers, or play better defense at 3B, but I am not convinced that we have a guy ready to do that right now.

I have a lot of patience for Getz - he's a rookie, the team is going to have to take its lumps with him but he has potential to be very good...IMO.
