If the playoffs started today, Detroit would be at home. They are currently tied for 10th.

If the playoffs started today, I'd be in the "start Niemi" corner.

While Huet has looked much, much better lately, I don't think there is much of a question that Niemi has looked better. He was a golden god against Pittsburgh.

I'd actually go Huet. Niemi has looked good, but so has Huet.

I hope Niemi keeps progressing. This is really perfect for the Hawks franchise and only makes the decision easier to move Huet in the offseason to resign the Hjalmarssons (Scotty Bowman did say that he'd bet his reputation that he becomes a top 4 defenseman in the league), Ladds (possibly unless Beach, etc.. are higher on the Hawks radar) and even the Niemis of the world. For now though.. we just enjoy the ride hopefully all the way to Lord Stanley.

If Niemi can become an OK number one goalie (in other words as good as Huet), you give away Huet to the first taker and take your chances. That $5.5 million could be huge to this squad going forward.

At least for this season I don't want them dealing Huet. I like having two strong goaltenders this year, and I'm not sold on Crawford at all as an NHL goalie. In the offseason they can try to find a taker for Huet and I'll take my chances with a slightly more battle-tested Niemi.

I think a Niemi / Crawford tamden could at least develop into an average NHL goaltender compared to other NHL teams if they were given the chance. A guy like Craig Anderson who was with the Hawks a few years back is probably quite similar to Crawford, so you need to give those young guys a chance eventually.

I think at the upcoming draft though, the Hawks need to use at least 1 of their 1st 2 picks on a goalie though, as it's the weakest area in the system.

Hawks playing the Rangers tonight. Over/under: 2, as in the number of fights/scraps some of our guys will be in with Sean Avery?

Where is the offense?

uggggggggggh Hawks down 1-0 going to the 2nd intermission

Lundqvist is ridiculous tonight.

Lundqvist is ridiculous tonight.

He's a career 3-0-1 against the Hawks. Just got their number. If the 'hawks lose, you tip your hat and say, "You were damn good, tonight."

I'm also a little disappointed that Eddie O didn't notice the 'hawks had Brouwer and Big Buf on the same PP trying to get some big bodies in front of the net. Or if they did, didn't say anything.

Another low-scoring OT game tonight.

Go get that second point!!!

BYFUGLIEN!!!!

HOLY f***!!!!

Wow, I don't think even Buff knew he could do that...

Great effort by Buff for the extra point. 6 games, 10 goals now since the SJ blow out.

Good to see one of my favorite players on the Hawks get the GW goal. :)

where did that come from? Wow.

Someone got a video link to this supposed amazing goal?

That was insane. Can't wait to go on Sunday...

Wow. When the hell did Buff get fast?

No joke, two things the guy has never been able to do are skate and stick-handle.
