July 25, 200322 yr I feel for Olivo. This has to be hard for him. He's jumping from AA to the majors and he wasn't exactly the most ready hitter at that stage. This has to be hard on him. I give the kid credit. He really isn't ready and I hope the Sox can address this issue. He's hurt us big time in late inning pressure situations. I just don't understand why Manuel won't pinch-hit or pinch-bunt for him. Contrary to popular belief, he doesn't have to learn to bunt the hard way and kill this team in the process. Oh yeah, and I foresee in Carl Crawford's future...an At Bat against Billy Koch.

Him not getting the bunt down is BS. I give him leeway cause he isn't ready to handle the bat, but getting down a bunt isn't like hitting a homerun, its something anyone can do if they practice.
