Ozzie said he probably will play the kids (Lillibridge and Fields mostly) this series since we are not playing Minnesota and Detroit as spoilers. Lets see if he holds true to his word.

I don't know why he'd play either Lilly or Fields.

Isn't it common knowledge both are not part of the team's future?

Fields is more or less trade bait, to hopefully play well and gives us some options to deal. And I'm sure KW's ego is not giving up on Lillibridge just yet. Probably wants to see what he can do come next season.

I'm happy to see Flowers behind the plate instead of Castro, because Flowers has more future potential with the Sox. But I don't care to see Lillibridge go for the all-time MLB record of most plate appearances in a season without an RBI. I'd rather see Alexei get another game's worth of experience fielding at SS.

They got some talented arms from the trades they made earlier this year. But they don't figure to make any impact for a couple years.
