He does know that, but like him, I think its a fear that is not worth considering. The risk level is insanely low, and the worst case scenario is that the pitcher's slot hits for part of one game, which would be PH'd for later anyway. So you're talking a couple at-bats, maybe, at worst, from a P. That risk is not worth factoring into this decision, IMO.

 

I hear you, but how many times have you ever seen a team do that? Even teams with a good defensive backup and a big bat starting catcher never seem to put them both in the lineup.

Pretty sure the Indians used to do it with VMart and Shoppach?

Pretty sure they didn't do it many times and they also had a third catcher on their roster for some of those years.

Is it me, or does anyone else feel like we need one more hot stove discussion move to make this offseason fully complete. Maybe we are just spoiled Sox fans because isn't KW one of the most active GMs the past 5-6 years? I thought i read that somewhere...
