March 8, 201016 yr Just how DePaul planned it, win the first, knock off Gtown and Syracuse en route to a Big East title and tourney birth, woooo Edited March 8, 201016 yr by ChWRoCk2
March 8, 201016 yr With the exception of day 1, this should be an awesome tournament. It's usually the best conference tournament in America, and I see no reason to think it'll be any different in 2010.
March 8, 201016 yr Author QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 7, 2010 -> 09:59 PM) With the exception of day 1, this should be an awesome tournament. It's usually the best conference tournament in America, and I see no reason to think it'll be any different in 2010. Oh easily, I'm not sure there is even a clear favorite to win it. I am liking West Virginia. I could see Connecticut getting by Marquette and a maybe beating a Villanova team that has been trending downward too.
March 8, 201016 yr I can't believe Pittsburgh is the #2 seed in this thing after everything they lost following last season. Jamie Dixon has to be a strong consideration for national coach of the year.
March 8, 201016 yr That is such an odd set up for a conference tourney. It really kills the idea of an upset winner.
March 8, 201016 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 8, 2010 -> 08:47 AM) That is such an odd set up for a conference tourney. It really kills the idea of an upset winner. That's exactly why I like this tournament besides obviously it's high level of play. Although I enjoy watching conference tournaments, the whole idea of them really isn't fair because you are determining your representative for the NCAA Tournament based on a few days of games rather than a couple of months. This isn't generally as big an issue in power leagues as it is in the smaller leagues since the top 4 or 5 teams are going to get in anyways though. However, I still prefer league tournaments like this one and the Horizon League which gave major preferential treatment to the top teams as a reward for a good season. March 8, 201016 yr ND has a decent draw. They play either Seton Hall or Providence, then Pittsburgh and West Virginia. All teams that they've either defeated this year - or can defeat - in conference play.
March 8, 201016 yr Depending on whether or not Connecticut can get a couple upsets, I might be heading down there later this week for the quarterfinals and semis.

I don't want to watch tourney's to watch the NC's, Dukes, and Kansas's of the world win. I watch for the upsets. You get a top seed as a reward for a good season. You shouldn't get to break the legs of your opponents as well.

March 9, 201016 yr QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 03:14 PM) UCONN playing with a sense of urgency... What a load of crap they've been this year. Inexcusable.
March 9, 201016 yr UCONN is definitely laying an egg in this game but St. Johns has actually been pretty impressive.
March 10, 201016 yr QUOTE (JuiceCruz16 @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 02:12 PM) Villanova over West Virginia for the crown They've got to beat Syracuse first.
March 11, 201016 yr QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 04:54 PM) They've got to beat Syracuse first. Maybe not the 'cuse has to beat G'town first. 'nova has been struggleing a bit lately, but they are my semi upset pick for the tournament champs.
March 11, 201016 yr Would be nice if Brandon Triche and Greg Monroe decided to start playing today too.
March 11, 201016 yr QUOTE (JuiceCruz16 @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 01:12 PM) Villanova over West Virginia for the crown They've got to beat Marquette first.
March 11, 201016 yr QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 01:48 PM) Onuaku injured, hopefully it's not serious. That kind of changes everything. True but he's still their third best big anyways.
March 11, 201016 yr QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 07:53 PM) True but he's still their third best big anyways. Syracuse is actually much better with him out of the game.
March 11, 201016 yr I'm liking ND's odds now. They play Pitt tonight - who they've beaten. They'd play WVU next - who they've beaten. Then, GTown - who they've beaten.

Then, GTown - who they've beaten. ND is playing much better, but in no way do I like their chances of beating those three teams in a row under any circumstances. Possible yes, but liking their odds to run the table I don't think so. Odds are about even up to get by Pitt, and stacked against them to survive past Pitt & W. Virginia. If they get that far to make it to the final they still would have to take out Marquette/G'town. Can't see how you would like thier odds, I would guess they would be at least 20 - 25 to 1 to make the final at this point.. Edited March 11, 201016 yr by JuiceCruz16
March 11, 201016 yr QUOTE (scenario @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 12:42 PM) They've got to beat Marquette first. True, how is that game going by the way. My G'town upset over the 'cuse came through.
