Why was this player never given a chance?

He was in our system for a short while. Maybe someone here knows more about him...

...but from what I can tell, he hit well at every level but just hasnt gotten had a chance in the bigs.

Lefty DH.

Well, at 33, he should hit pretty well in the minor leagues.

I mean, obviously DH/1B is the hardest to make a splash with.

Just funny how now we need a lefthanded one, and yet they dont seem to be around. I'd be a little more OK with our current situation if we had a few minor league options from the LH side that would have more promise than Jason Botts.

He's not that hard to find, just pay more attention next time you're picking up your food at the drive-thru window.

Is this a joke?

Come on seriously... is this a real question or just trying to get people to throw stuff at you?

Bryan Myrow is 33 years old and has a career AAA line of .313/.423/.528/.951

Jason Botts is 29 years old and has a career AAA line of .299/.398/.540/.938

Also, Myrow was an independent league sign-on at age 24, and wasn't Botts a former high round pick who is considered to have a nice tool set?

'more promise' as in for this year. which I'm aware I left completely unclear. The big thing with me is Myrow hasnt had the MLB opportunities Botts has had. But again, I admittedly am going off a career stats sheet

how many 33 year old career minor leaguers have been brought up to the majors to be a DH?

You could probably count them on one fist.

Well, he was brought up to play CF. Which was a good thing...for one game...or at least one at-bat.

But he could be our Micha Hoffpauer!!!!!!!!

Botts is 29 with a total of 280 some major league at bats.

This thread is hilarious.
