April 9, 201015 yr I did a google search and one report said Yankee stadium doesn't allow them, another said Troppicana field does indeed allow them. MY question is - I'd like to go to Tomorrow's Rays vs. Yankees game @ Troppicana field. But i'd also like to follow other games/news/reports etc. on my Laptop. 1. Are laptops allowed? 2. Is there internet? Thanks for any help.
April 9, 201015 yr The answer to this question is getting a BlackBerry. Or any type of smart phone. Laptops are bulky and unnecessary at a ballpark.
April 9, 201015 yr The following items are PROHIBITED in Tropicana Field: * Bags, purses, backpacks, coolers, containers of any kind in excess of 16" x 16" x 8" * Wrapped presents* or presents of any kind in excess of 16" x 16" x 8" * Hard containers or coolers of any kind, type or size * Helium balloons and beach balls * Bullhorns, airhorns, lasers * Weapons, fireworks * Cameras with lenses more than 12" in length * Electronic equipment that interferes with other fans' enjoyment of the game * Banners and flags with sticks, poles or items that can obstruct another fan's view * Clothing with obscene or offensive messages Doesn't mention laptops, but I'd at least be prepared to have to walk back to my car.
April 9, 201015 yr Author Hm. appreciate the info Crimson! The answer to this question is getting a BlackBerry. Or any type of smart phone. Laptops are bulky and unnecessary at a ballpark. Love the bulkyness while sitting down . Cant stand small screens. Maybe the Ipad, my bro has that... hm.
April 9, 201015 yr * Electronic equipment that interferes with other fans' enjoyment of the game Laptops could fall under this category but personally, I would allow laptops into the game
April 9, 201015 yr It appears to depend on the stadium. Yankee stadium bans them. San Francisco provides free Wi-Fi. You may want to try emailing fanfeedback@whitesox.mlb.com.
April 9, 201015 yr Author Interesting. Ill try to talk to some people down here, would love to watch david price live vs the yanks, but also really involved with somethings internet wise.
April 9, 201015 yr A couple years ago I was at Wrigley, and the lady a couple seats down the row was on her laptop doing work. It was a week day, and apparently she was allowed to leave work and go to the game, as long as she still did work during the game, so she sat there on her laptop and watched the game and did work in between innings. Seemed like a sweet life to me.
April 9, 201015 yr Just bring your desktop with keyboard, mouse, and printer and hook it up to a gas powered generator.

April 9, 201015 yr QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 12:23 AM) Last year at Busch stadium, my ipod touch could not pick up any networks. I noticed Busch is a black hole of sorts for 3G as well. Cell service was going in and out.
April 9, 201015 yr If you have an MLB.TV account, just go and have the game on your laptop so you can see replays. That's would I would do.
April 10, 201015 yr QUOTE (G&T @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 01:48 PM) Tropicana doesn't strike me as a park that would have any fancy technology. I thought I remembered something about them being on the leading edge of that a few years back.
April 11, 201015 yr Last year I had a G1 (which is now a Motorola Cliq) and I would post to this site from Camden Yards - a couple of posters asked me in the game thread how I was commenting on something in the first person but also posting it. It was pretty cool, although I was limited to what my battery could do.
