Ozzie is all about taking a role player, that actually might benefit the team as a role player and then overplaying said role player turning him into hot garbage.

 

Erstad became our leadoff hitter, based on the fact that he was so grindy. He wasn't going to leadoff for another team that year.

Mackowiak, perfectly good utility guy. You move him around, can play the corner OFs fine. We turn him into a starting CF, not exactly his strong suit.

Wise, becomes a leadoff hitter and starter. Only injury takes that away.

Now Kotsay, our 5th hitter who has pods like numbers hitting against RH.

 

Think about other awesome things that injury took away from us. Owens was the starter out of ST, and Quentin was coming off the bench. Then that angered the gods who struck down Owens.

 

 

good job Ramirez, he to advance him. Come on Mark, I'm saying you're getting a base hit here.

I like the swinging bunt like that. Because it's also always possible that the ball will flip over the 2b on a swing like that and he'll get a hit out of it

I'll go out on a limb (not my own limb of course) and say Teahen gets a base hit.
