Score?? How badly are we looking this wonderful day?

I disagree completely, at no point should your 3-4 hitters go up to the plate thinking:

"If I get a meatball Im not swinging because we may only have a 5 pitch inning"

Peavy getting squeezed

1-0 Indians. We have 2 hits, and 2 GIDPs.

I am just following on here and Gameday, but it seems like Peavy is pitching pretty poorly again.

Oh and Westbrook has 42 pitches through 4 via a 5-pitch inning in the top of the 4th here.

Wow another poor showing by Peavy and our offense...who knew??

Peavy doesnt have his best stuff, but hes through 4 giving up only 1 run.

Sox have hit the ball hard, unfortunately most have been right at people.

I have a feeling this is what his stuff is. It's serviceable, but no longer Cy material.

Yeah, Peavy is definitely doing okay from a stats standpoint. He's keeping us in this game for sure. It's up to the offense to get some hits here now, but then again, it always has been.

Really? I don't know if I believe that. What was last season then? Just leftover juice? He had some awesome stuff those 3 starts last year. The movement on some of his pitches was baffling the hitters.

I think Peavy is going to be fine. 3.5 ERA, 200+ K's.

I think its hard to say this early in the season.

In the spring you generally see pitchers not as throwing as hard. By June/July hell probably back in the 93-95 range.

This umpire freaking sucks. That hasn't been a strike all game.

He was throwing in the 91-92 mph range last year also.

But speed isn't everything.

wow, please don't sign AJP to an extension. He has absolutely no bat speed anymore. Some pathetic swings on 3-1 pitches this inning.

And that's 9 in a row retired. Fire everyone!!

Whoever called that 9 in a row.. nice.

I'm amazed that anyone still has optimism when watching this team. This offense is epically terrible. I can't recall seeing a team this inept.

What a catch Ramirez!

Nice defense that inning. And yes sqwert, this team can't contend this season as currently constructed.

A lot of you are Bears fans, no? You should be used to this..

Ha, okay, I'm gonna get grilled for that, but come on, the Bears had some bad teams in the last 20 years.

That was a really nice inning right there. We could use a few more of those.

Ozzie ball is OFFENSIVE! :gosoxretro:

lead off walk, let's go Alexei

That one was outside the zone for Gameday, called a strike.
