That made me think of my movie theatre's ban list. We had about 25 people in total on that list (mostly former employees) and we could never enforce it, esp. with a new security guard every day.

Now imagine in an entire movie theater with about 1k-3k max of tickets sold at the same time.

And now a ball park for that matter with 20k+.

 

It's just not feasible to ban people and enforce it.

 

$2,000 isn't enough a penalty, needs to be at least triple that.

 

They just need to create more awareness of it at the start of games on the video screen.

To be fair, it depends on how many volts are being used and how long they keep it on you. Depending on both of those things it's very comparable to OC Spray. I think what needs to happen is good old fashioned policing. RUN and catch the criminal, if he's resisting then you use whatever force is necessary. The kid that got tagged in Philly was outrunning an out of shape police, making him look like a clown. I think it was done more for the cops ego than actually having to use that kind of force. How do you prevent this in the future? Fire the police that are too out of shape to do their jobs.

I can honestly say that I had no idea that the fine was so high. Maybe they should tell fans that at the beginning of the game, just as they tell them they will be subject to removal from the park.

Any sporting event down here, before it starts they always have the amount of the fine of the video screen and an announcement about it.

 

At least now, this issue is being brought more to the fore due to the events in Philly.

Seriously though, nothing is going to prevent drunk or high idiots from running onto the field. It's going to happen. So really, deal with it as best you can. If you don't want to be tased, bro, then don't run onto the field. Otherwise...be prepared for the shock of your life.

I was banned from the World Theater for 5 years back when I was in HS/college, not enforceable.
