Yeah he is. Would have been nice to see Uruguay win 3rd place.

How many yellow cards are we going to get?

Probably should have had a red...

They've all been actual fouls, but this is getting a bit ridiculous.

Come on Spain!!!

This is anyone's game...

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a s*** game. Spain is a disgrace. The ref was even worse.

What a crap final.

I totally disagree...European champs and now World champs...the Dutch tried slowing Spain down with physical play (fouling them constantly) but Spain prevailed despite the dirty play.

I enjoy watching soccer, but wow is the diving just disgraceful by some off the top international teams. There really needs to be more officials on the pitch to prevent that bulls*** from occurring and I don't see any legitimate reason not to add more officials.

Spain was diving all over the field and begging for cards non stop. And then Robben gets mugged and decides not to dive and the ref just ignores it. Puyol should have been sent off right there.

The ref was absolute trash tonight.

Robben is Greg Louganis on the pitch...

What a goal by Iniesta, that required a lot of patience and accuracy.

Congrats Spain, congrats to my grandparents and all my Spanish family members, party like mofos!!!

Having them on the lines doesn't help much, and having them on the pitch only takes up space.

Don't expect any significant changes in soccer any time soon.

This is where soccer and baseball has its ties. They're so prone to change.

Really cant make any significant changes without f***ing up the flow of the game. You add another ref then you might have inconsistent calls on fouls which isnt fair. Instant replay cant work either. Maybe a goal line judge or some type of goal line technology.

Can't you just penalize diving with game suspensions via replay after the games?

Hand enough of those out and I would think a lot of guys would hesistate to do it, knowing it will be reviewed on video after the game...

I'm sad it's over. But overall a pretty good month of soccer, wish Germany or Holland would have won but looking forward to 2014 i think Germany is gonna be a force. Already excited to get the qualifying process started again. Go USA and go Germany!!

Easy solution: review the cards after the games and any red cards during a game.

There's no reason after the infamous Kaka red card that they couldn't have looked at that, removed his red, and given a yellow to the faker. Reviews wouldn't even add any time - they already waste a couple minutes with a bunch of people complaining to the ref.

The integrity of the game is more important than the 'flow', which is already messed up due to injury faking and referee lobbying.

I started a World Cup pool, got about 30 friends to sign up, and I won the whole damn thing! Who does that? :headbang

It seems like we get a new meme or awesome GIF from every world cup final game.

In 06, it was Zidane's headbutt.

This year, it's De Jong drop kicking Xabi Alonso. Awesome, just imagine a big hole behind Alonso and Leonidas' face on De Jong's body yelling, "THIS IS SPARTA!".
