May 18, 201015 yr http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=5197935 His trade value may never be lower. Can we get him for our Ramirez and some prospect? ;-)
May 18, 201015 yr Wow, Hanley is incredibly immature. Just by looking at his body language during today’s game and the comments he made prior to the game. What a child. And no we will not be able to get Hanley for Alexei and a prospect.
May 18, 201015 yr Ozzie would never have the balls to do that. And yes, I would still take Hanley and not think twice, as I'm sure most sane fans would also.
May 18, 201015 yr Hanley pouted the entire game today. He wouldn't even sit on the bench or take BP, he was in the corner of the dugout sulking. Wes Helms demanded that he apologize to Fredi for insubordination. That's ridiculous. Edited May 18, 201015 yr by Thunderbolt
May 18, 201015 yr I believe he had some guys questioning him playing through some soreness last year, looks like he'll be the next generation Manny Ramirez, Fish won't trade him, he's a cornerstone for that new ballpark
May 18, 201015 yr QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 18, 2010 -> 03:05 PM) Ozzie would never have the balls to do that. And yes, I would still take Hanley and not think twice, as I'm sure most sane fans would also. Except Ozzie has done that exact thing before. He should do it more though, there are guys on the team who dog it way too much (but actually not as much this year's team, as last year).
May 18, 201015 yr QUOTE (chw42 @ May 18, 2010 -> 04:19 PM) Hanley literally showed up Gonzalez, what an ass hole. At one point, Fredit sat down next to Hanley and tried to talk to him. Hanley wouldn't even look him in the eye. Dan Uggla tried to downplay the entire thing in a post-game interview, but you could tell even he was frustrated. And i saw the replay, Hanley really did loaf. He tried to write it off as the product of being hit by a ball earlier in the game, but Ross got nailed even harder in that game, and went balls out out on a sinking liner an inning later.

He should do it more though, there are guys on the team who dog it way too much (but actually not as much this year's team, as last year). I'm talking veterans (though Hanley is young, he is still a veteran player) not younger players. (I.E. Tracey, Viciedo, etc..) I'll bet you my life insurance Ozzie would have never done that, especially to his star player. I applaud Freddie for it actually. Hanley has to learn that even if the younger guys do it too, he is the leader and face of the team. Set an example young fella.

It seems like there always has to be a Ramirez in baseball that's a lazy ass, but is also extremely talented at hitting.
May 18, 201015 yr I'd still take him, but he's got some maturity issues to take care of. IIRC, didn't he get into it with the front office over wanting to get his hair cut or something of that sort?
May 18, 201015 yr I wouldn't care if Hanley dissed my mom. He's welcome in Chicago anytime. Give them half the organization if that's what it took. Edited May 18, 201015 yr by Jordan4life

Yeah, I don't care either, he can be a big ass hole if he wants to, but as long as he hits the way he does, I'm fine with it. His contribution at the plate outweighs any kind of problem he has off the field.
May 19, 201015 yr His attitude = losing, no matter how talented he is. Edited May 19, 201015 yr by BearSox

I think we have been watching a different Ozzie Guillen the past few years.... if there was ever a guy I'd imagine doing that in mlb it would be Ozzie.
May 19, 201015 yr QUOTE (BearSox @ May 19, 2010 -> 02:17 AM) His attitude = losing, no matter how talented he is. Is that why the Marlins have had winning records and grossly outperformed expectations the last few years?

May 19, 201015 yr QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 19, 2010 -> 08:07 AM) Is that why the Marlins have had winning records and grossly outperformed expectations the last few years? Lets see how they do this year considering this has been the most truble Hanley has been since he came into the league. He seems to only get worse every year.
May 19, 201015 yr i still am in disbelief that he pulled the "My Manager doesnt know what he is talking about because he never played in the big leagues" card. Totally immature.
May 19, 201015 yr Wait, so the fluff piece in ESPN The Magazine saying how Hanley is such a great teammate (even though I've heard no one can stand him in Florida) wasn't accurate?
