Jim Fainter Posted July 30, 2003 Share Posted July 30, 2003 In today's Cub game Mordeci Alfonseca came in to pitch the 8th and 9th innings, and gave up a run in each inning. Baker took him out with two outs in the 9th. The crowd booed him both on the way in and on the way out. One of the announcers said that there has been some banter between Baker and the fans for all the booing. First I heard of it. He also blamed the fact that they dont have days off before they play and a variety of other things that have nothing to do with the fact that their bullpen sucks. The aura of Dusty will then fade, and next year he will get hammered for all the stupid things he says and does. Hopefully, the "cute" little Darren Baker stories will also end.
