If we're going to need to call up an extra pitcher in addition to Teahen, then it's gonna be hard not to send Viciedo down, even for just a 10 day stint.

 

As I mentioned in another thread, the Sox are off tomorrow, but then have no off days for two weeks after that with a doubleheader in Detroit in a couple of days. It might be possible we just carry 13 pitchers until that next off day, and then send somebody down once the next off day arrives to carry another bat. Sending Dayan down is just unfortunate if it happens, especially with dead weight like Kotsay still here.

My guess would be Lillibridge, though I am not certain how long the rehab for Teahen would last. Viciedo would be the most appropriate in that case when Teahen comes back.

I can see Teahen getting put on waivers after he's healthy to see if anyone wants him.
