I wonder what the deal is with Haren. He's on pace for a career worst (full) season in terms of WHIP, ERA, HRs given up, etc. It appears his velocity is down only slightly from last season, but also has been on a steady decline the last 4 years. His peripherals still look fine though.

Amazing what a .346 BABIP does to you.

Why would the Orioles trade their best player again?

Why would Houston trade Oswalt there best player, to try to be better in the future and something tells me Baltimore aint going to make a run anytime soon.

Nick Markakis is a young, under contract, very good player that a team can build around. Oswalt is over 30 years old, and is already making 16 million next year and he wont get cheaper after his contract runs out next year, plus he wants to pitch for a contender. It makes much more sense for the Astros to get rid of Oswalt than it does for the Orioles to get rid of Markakis.

Markakis is about 5 years younger and in control until 2014 for the cheap. Why not? Baltimore has a nice young core.

And in the Peter Angelos is a bit of a weirdo section, Markakis also happens to be Greek, making him one of Angelos' favorite players.

What about dealin for Lilly...I am sure he wouldn't cost an arm and a leg....

Lilly in the Cell in the summer would be like Lilly at Wrigley with the wind blowing out.

The bigger the OF, the more effective he'll be.
