Ha seriously. He is harping on it instead of harping on how terrible John has been.

Huh? He brought up the misplay probably 15 times.

Blaming Q for Danks blowing up that inning is just ridiculous. Sure, it was a bad play. He could have minimized the damage and just start throwing garbage up there.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 15, 2010 -> 09:02 PM)
It definitely had an effect.

Danks had nothing. He was going to hit with or without Q screwing up.

Thankfully it's over. We need some Colorado Rockies resilience now.

I disagree. Slowey has nothing.

And our hitters are mental when times are tough

Guess all the recent good luck built up and added up to one horrific situation

Seriously, Quentin needs to start DHing. I think what he did in the past two games while DHing should put the myth that he'd kill himself while DHing to rest.

Got to love Hawk acting like that error by Q prevented Danks from getting any of the guys who followed him.

Hawk likes to blame anything but the actual players involved. Its the umpires, a random bad play, hell a pigeon fart. Anything but the play. Did the error put more stress on the pitcher. Sure. However giving up all those runs with 2 outs is on him. He pissed down his leg.

This kind of bulls*** blind homerism is why Hawk isn't appreciated outside of Chicago. Call the game like it's being played, Hawk. Not the way you wish it was.

Totally agree

haha I'm guessing not this inning, but I think they still have a great shot at this game.

What did Q do? Gameday says nothing about an error or a ball hit to him.

He sure had nothing while retiring 5 of the first 6 hitters, including one that should have been an out.

And it could only be against the Twins too.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 15, 2010 -> 08:02 PM)
Can't remember a more disappointing inning than that in a long time. Offense has to keep it going.

Whatever. The Twins have a terrible starter on the mound and a brutal bullpen lately. I just hate the way the Sox infused a reeling team with momentum the way they just did.

Danks has got to pick up the pieces better than that, though. That was a horrible display of lack of focus.

3 runs now off that dropped catch. I am pissed.

HOW ABOUT A LIIIITTTTTLLLLLEEEE "D?????"

He couldn't get to a pretty routine fly ball, Rios had to cover for him and dropped the ball because he was afraid of running into Quentin.

So the following batters where he preceded to give up six runs are meaningless in this discussion, right? How about the counts where he had two strikes on a guy and couldn't put him away?

I know, I was agreeing with you.

it's just weird the amount of strange s*** that goes down whenever they play the twins

Well said. He's an embarrassment to the profession.

I think you need to look at the before and then the after. In the before, he sure looked like he had some decent stuff. Then after the error, it wasn't the same. He was obviously rattled. I'm not trying to say that Danks had no fault, but the error had a huge part in why that inning transpired.

almost always bad stuff too.
