He already proved he can hit at this level. They must just be working on his defense. He looks like he could be a pretty good hitter if he can play catcher respectably well.

I have seen him play the position of catcher as well as 1st base ..to me he handles himself A LOT better at first base, he's great there. I don't even know why they would try to move him from that position.

Usually it's a situation where the Sox go to Black or visa versa and say you can get to the Majors quicker by playing catcher. He was in Kannapolis this time a year ago so it's interesting to see him in Bristol a year later. It has to be about the defense.
