March 14, 201115 yr QUOTE (SpainSOXfan09 @ Mar 14, 2011 -> 01:07 PM) Gotcha, but you would think this would be an absolute must as part of his rehab now. As much as I love for the farm to turn our more relievers I would really like to see if he could be a project for starter. Has Coop even mentioned him yet with the sucess he has had on the lower minors? He's too old and doesn't have enough college pedigree to be considered a high end prospect (in addition to the lack of velocity). He's on the Sox radar, but I'd say he's on the periphery. He did manage to get into a spring training game with the big kids late last spring, which for a guy who hadn't thrown about A- does say that they are at least interested in his development. But converting to starter, I have heard nothing along those lines. This is the year he either becomes a real prospect, or fades away, IMO. If he puts up numbers in AA like he's done at A- and A+, despite his age, you will start hearing him being talked about. And if he does indeed add a couple ticks to the fastball as well, converting to starter is always possible. I think that would be dictated by the team's needs at that point, in terms of starters vs relievers.
March 19, 201115 yr Doug Laumann will be on White Sox Weekly on 670 at noon...or sometime between noon and 1. Maybe he'll offer up where some players are going.

March 19, 201115 yr The Laumann interview wasn't that great. Talked a lot about Sale. I kind of wish Rongey would have asked him how much they scouted Mike Trout in 2009, and why they went with Mitchell.
March 21, 201115 yr Petricka seems to be headed to Kanny as one would expect. jacobpetricka Jacob Petricka @ProfessorFog officially I have not been told. However, it is appearing to be kanny. Looking forward to a fun year. 2 minutes ago Favorite Retweet Reply Edited March 21, 201115 yr by DirtySox

March 23, 201115 yr Has anyone heard if any prospects have really excelled this spring? With all of the Peavy discussion at the big club, not much attention has been paid to any of the "blossoming" prospects.
March 24, 201115 yr Author QUOTE (JPN366 @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 08:22 PM) I'll have a new board up in a little while. New board up.

March 26, 201115 yr Author QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 25, 2011 -> 09:26 PM) What happened to Salvador Sanchez and who is Drew Thompson? Big Dirty signed with Texas and Thompson use to be in the Twins system. Drew Thompson
March 27, 201115 yr Author Another updated board. I dropped the You Send It download version, with the piecemeal releases, it's easier to simply update the Google Document.
March 28, 201115 yr Thanks a ton for doing this. Pretty cool..... I thought I saw on Leighton's FB that he was going to Kanny, but maybe he was wrong since he missed almost all of last year.

Could make sense if you DH him, or slide Dan Black over to third, or DH Black.
March 28, 201115 yr I'm willing to bet that Nate Jones is a reliever this year, not a starter. Infante will be in AAA is my guess, not AA. I am also thinking that Justin Cassel will either be released or traded before the season starts. I'd also bet that Kyle Colligan will not be a bench player. He's very toolsy, and I think the org is not that low on him.

It's hard to project pitchers, I was thinking they'd want both Infante and Carter to close and Infante spent less time at AA. Justin told me last summer that he would be ready to pitch by now, so I don't know what's up with him. If Mitchell, Ciolli, Shoemaker, Martinez and Colligan are all at W-S, then somebody's on the bench. I would think Martinez would be there, but it's not impossible that he could move up to B'ham.

JMHO, but... I think Ozzie Lewis doesn't start in B-Ham, he's on the bench. Loman will DH, Marrero at 1B and some OF, but that leaves an open OF slot, which I think Martkiez is in. Then at W-S, you have Mitchell/Ciolli/Shoemaker/Colligan at the 3 OF and 1 DH positions, rotating.

But, he probably needs to be pushed a little. Don't forget KW Jr., he's gonna get way too many at bats. Edited March 28, 201115 yr by JPN366
