The Triumphant Return of Jake Peavy @ Angels

Featured Replies

Has Peavy thrown any pitches over 90 MPH?

I just picked up the game at mlb.com and he was at 88. That's Freddy Garcia territory. Or was it a sinking FB and his four seamer's in the low 90's?

Just noticed that all of our hits are from our lefties.

except teahen

The story tonight should be that Jake Peavy's first start since that abysmal injury last year was a good and encouraging one. Instead, at least 'til now, it's all about the Sox' inability to get a hit with RISP.

Our ERA as a team in May is 2.57. Teams pitching like this should be on a massive run.

Mark Teahen is really knocking the crap outta the ball tonight...

Low 90s. Have to imagine he's still building stamina and arm strength right now though.

Thanks, I'm sure. He just looks...I don't know...more herky-jerky than he originally did....

Maybe just me.

When does Teahen's contract with us expire????

Teahen's suddenly switch-hitting?

Teahen's batting average in free-fall mode, down to about .225

thats 2.00 too high for our offense

teahen is almost as big a waste of player as pierre is. he is guaranteed to foul a pitch off to the left and then hit a seven hopper

After 2012 I hope.

It seems like our players SUCK at hitting hanging breaking pitches. Been that way for a while.

f***ing pathetic

For 5 million a year and playing twice a week, you'd think he'd have enough energy to hustle down the first base line instead of reaching first in about 7 seconds.

I know when it expires. I just can't wait until it does.

Well they are waiting for the mid thigh fastball center in. Only Dunn got one. But they are waiting.

That's how I feel with Rios and gulp...Peavy

And he still has a higher OPS than Beckham.

Who has a higher OPS than Pierre, AJ, Rios and Morel. Yikes.

Looks like all of Peavy's pitchers are within 5-7 MPH of each other. Not exactly the 10+ MPH spread that's ideal.

He is throwing sliders, change-ups and cutters according the play-by-play, in addition to the FB.

Ugliest pitching line you're gonna see for Chatwood...one run.

That is on KW no need to extend him at all.

Deals made during 2009 = awful consequences. Kinda like what the Cubs have faced the last few years, it's going to take a few years to get some of these bad contracts off the books.
