June 30, 201114 yr Cameron designated for assignment by Redsox. Is there anything left he's 38. Will somebody pick him up?
June 30, 201114 yr QUOTE (forrestg @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 12:57 PM) Cameron designated for assignment by Redsox. Is there anything left he's 38. Will somebody pick him up? There's been talk about the Phillies looking for a RHB for a platoon role. If they don't think there's anything better on the trade front they might give him a shot.
June 30, 201114 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 12:59 PM) What is he making this year? Too much money for the Sox to take on.
June 30, 201114 yr QUOTE (forrestg @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 12:57 PM) Cameron designated for assignment by Redsox. Is there anything left he's 38. Will somebody pick him up? Hell no. He's done. His bat speed is zippity doo dah. And he's lost about 3 steps on the bases and in the field (though he hasn't played much CF this year). He'll always be one of my favorite White Sox players, though.
June 30, 201114 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 01:07 PM) Who are the Red Sox replacing him with? infielder Yamaico Navarro
June 30, 201114 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 02:20 PM) infielder Yamaico Navarro In other words...the Red Sox aren't exactly replacing him with a major prospect or someone who's pushing him out of the way. They just dont' want him.
June 30, 201114 yr I always thought that he was one of the more obvious juicers. I understand that he tested positive for a banned substance, but that was "supposedly" not a steroid.
June 30, 201114 yr QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 08:10 PM) I always thought that he was one of the more obvious juicers. I understand that he tested positive for a banned substance, but that was "supposedly" not a steroid. Indeed...him and Boone on same team hitting bombs in a huge park.
June 30, 201114 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 01:14 PM) Indeed...him and Boone on same team hitting bombs in a huge park. Mmm... that 2001 Mariners team still makes my nether regions tingle.
June 30, 201114 yr QUOTE (Bighurt52235 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 06:27 PM) Mmm... that 2001 Mariners team still makes my nether regions tingle. That's what it feels like when the drugs make your testicles shrink.
July 1, 201114 yr QUOTE (Bighurt52235 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 05:27 PM) Mmm... that 2001 Mariners team still makes my nether regions tingle. One of the more impressive post season chokes around.
July 1, 201114 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 02:07 PM) Who are the Red Sox replacing him with? They played Adrian Gonzalez in RF.
July 1, 201114 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 1, 2011 -> 08:31 AM) One of the more impressive post season chokes around. It almost compares to the last team that won 116 and then choked in the playoffs.
July 1, 201114 yr QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 01:10 PM) I always thought that he was one of the more obvious juicers. I understand that he tested positive for a banned substance, but that was "supposedly" not a steroid. I always liked the guy when he was with the Sox. But we got a good return on that trade.
July 1, 201114 yr QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 1, 2011 -> 12:08 PM) I always liked the guy when he was with the Sox. But we got a good return on that trade. I can't remember, who did we get in that deal?
July 1, 201114 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 1, 2011 -> 01:12 PM) I can't remember, who did we get in that deal? Some rookie, I think they had him playing 3b.
July 2, 201114 yr Including Cinci, Cameron has played on 6 different teams since that trade. The guy the Sox got has only played on 1.
July 2, 201114 yr QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 2, 2011 -> 12:55 AM) Including Cinci, Cameron has played on 6 different teams since that trade. The guy the Sox got has only played on 1. Well, he did play on 4 All Star teams.
