If Rios was making a lot less money people would be fine with his talent. Its just he got a contract based on reaching a future potential, he has actually regressed from where he was.

 

If he wasn't making so much money, he'd be DFA'd. It's past the halfway mark and he's been a total non-factor this year.

Rios never moves his legs at the plate. He never comes up before the pitch, or he never goes down. He doesn't step when the pitch is coming either. If his knees are shot by the end of next year, I wouldn't be shocked one bit.

Farmer already speculating that Flowers might start tmrw, but no way in hell that's happening.

 

Unless Ozzie's really trying to lose his job or betting against the Sox. AJ would go crazy sitting out 2 games in a row against his former team.

 

 

Although it could get interesting if Peavy goes out there with ZERO stuff again and gives up 5-6-7 against the Twins. AJ will flip out.

I don't think anyone would care if he made $20 million or the minimum if he performed. For the past calendar year he has been an awful major league baseball player.

Rios could eventually turn it around, id have no problem stashing him on my bench for 300k. He plays all 3 of positions and can pinch run etc. He had tremendous talent, sometimes he seems almost there.
