Saladino and Thompson should be interesting to follow next year.

And we don't have many of those "interesting to follow" players, lol.

getting excited about Saladino.

wonder if Axelrod will get a look in September

Wilkins has been very good as well. Love his patience. Won't turn 23 till September so he isn't too old at that level.

He's been very good his last 200 ABs or so. He needs to show consistent power going forward but he's a sleeper.

Saladino a double shy of the cycle. In ~350 ABs he has 43 XBH. If he cuts down on his K totals just a bit...watch out.

Viciedo hit both homers off of Delgado, who's pitched in the majors recently.

His K's have gone down as the season has progressed. He started the season with a wrist or hand injury I believe and was striking out a lot but he has progressively gotten better in the K department. Right now he has a k rate of about 23% which isn't horrible, ideally he'll get it down under 20% which is a number I can live with, especially considering how much power he hits for and the fact that he has a decent BB rate too.

Every time I see Axelrod through another solid game, I keep thinking... is he for real, or is he Jack Egbert?

Kev Smith reborn at Great Falls.

Kev Smith reborn at Great Falls.

Last 4 games: 10-for-15, 3 2B, 5 RBI, 2 BB / 2 K, SB

May have just been a brief adjustment period for him when he first arrived, which is normal.

Going from Bristol to Great Falls shouldn't take an adjustment period. He probably was just pissed he had to go to Montana. Pro ball is a big lifestyle adjustment for these kids out of college. The time demand is greater and they're playing almost everyday and for a longer period of time. He could have just hit a wall and needed a break.

Great name from the recent past. Whatever became of Eggy?

EDIT: Mets system, AA Binghamton

Yeah, when I said adjustment period, that doesn't necessarily mean just adjusting to the pitching talent he is facing. It is similar to going off to college - yeah the classes may or may not be tougher, but there is as you say, a lifestyle adjustment. He had to move across country and re-settle in a new setting. He also, as you said, could have just happened to hit a bad streak at that time. Hard to tell.
