I think I remember Guillen and Grebeck going back to back on Nolan Ryan

I would love to see a video of that.

August 11/1990 .... I just looked it up. It was the Little Hurt's first career home run.

Maybe they shouldn't have put up 8 runs. Now I can't get them on Fox or MLB.

Wow, that is awesome

don't let them back in.

Dewayne Wise went 2-for-3 with a solo homer, triple and two runs

Who got hurt?

Who got hurt?

Gavin rolled his ankle but isn't hurt.

Yowzers! Stepped away for about 45 minutes and chaos ensues.

Detroit really has no chance in the playoffs. Its hard to believe they've won as many games as they have with that rotation.

They have a good offense. Their pitching just needs to keep them in the game.

Konerko's going finish the season ~ .320 30 100

what a great freakin year

Luckily for them pitching doesn't matter much in the post season

We've had pretty solid D up the middle this season

Which makes this season even more maddening. You could almost accept another pimp-smack from the Twins. But they've (the Twins) been dead man walking for pretty much the entire season and they're still going to be clearing out their lockers come October 1st.

The D has been solid all-around the diamond. It's catcher and the OF that's been the problem.

Do you think porcello is ever going to figure it out?

Mediocre peripherals for the most part. But it's hard to believe he's only 22. There's still a fair chance he could live up to his perceived potential. Worst-case you have a solid #4. Scherzer is the one they need to get back to last season's level.

You're welcome. Just for the hell of it, I looked up the box score (the game was on August 10, 1990, not August 11) to see if the next hitter avoided getting drilled. He did. It was Lance Johnson ........ no doubt with happy feet. He grounded out 3rd to 1st.

I was only 7. But I still have vivid memories of that 1990 team. Arguably the most exciting team in Sox History.

Least expected back-to-back homers in the history of the game

No. Grebeck and Ozzie going back to back off Nolan Ryan in 1990 takes the cake. I will never forget it.

One of these days, Ozzie will realize that Ohman isn't a long reliever.
