You're welcome. Just for the hell of it, I looked up the box score (the game was on August 10, 1990, not August 11) to see if the next hitter avoided getting drilled. He did. It was Lance Johnson ........ no doubt with happy feet. He grounded out 3rd to 1st.

Grebeck either got drilled or knocked on his ass his next AB. I can't remember.

Mediocre peripherals for the most part. But it's hard to believe he's only 22. There's still a fair chance he could live up to his perceived potential. Worst-case you have a solid #4. Scherzer is the one they need to get back to last season's level.

I'd trust him on the mound over Peavy and Humber at this point. But it does make sense for the long term.

Id say that a decent outing from any of them is a crapshoot. Don't know why you'd trust him over Peavy.

IJS, if their offense can keep them in the game they have a chance, I'm not saying they are going to the WS now.

Why are they getting tagged in the first inning then settling down? They aren't ready to pitch. If the Sox never scored their first time through the line up, you would blame Walker. He's always been the problem according to some. Who are you going to blame next year?

If Walker was as successful with the hitters as Cooper has been with the pitching staff the Sox would easily be in first place.

 

Cooper has a much better track record of success than Walker has.
